I love freshly cut Chilli Padi in soya sauce. With this, I can eat any kind of noodle soup, really anykind;) I simply love it…In Hungary, I could have use the notable Paprika…however, I can’t find soya sauce…so for all ten weeks, I live without chilli in the way I eat in Singapore:) You bet, I missed it very much….

Dragon Dance – a very cute one;)
This dragon dance was much looked forward to. To be honest, I was caught by a little surprise because it was actually the little boys who were performing this dragon dance. This means that the ‘dragon’ is a little shorter than the normal ones;)
The introduction was a drums performance, like a warm up for the boys:) I will show you the drums intro tomorrow. Meanwhile, click on to see the ‘Dragon Dance’ and let me know if you find it cute like I do:)
p.s. Usually strong guys or young man will be in the performance because the dragon head is very heavy and the dragon body is very very long, usually with more than twenty men…if you wanna see more, I’ve found a glow in the dark dragon in a Japan Dragon Dance championship to share;)
Goodies!
This a a new year goodies stall. The chinese believes in eating things that are symbolism of nice things to come as a way of new year celebrations. One of which is Pistachios which in chinese it is called ‘kai xin guo’
so it means ‘happy fruit’, so i supposed on the new year’s day, I’ll show you one closed up of the goodies we buy at home:)

Usher in Fortune!!
This is how Chinese New Year is celebrated. The most favourite activity is to ‘usher in FORTUNE!’ Have you ever wonder how is it done? I’ll try to get you a video one of these days. As the CNY is coming, which is on the 18th Feb, a lot of places are in this mood with lots of red everywhere. I used to think it looked too ‘ching cheong’ many years back, but now I think it is how Chinese believe the red will ‘scare’ off the evil spirits and bad luck in the past year:)
p.s. This is CausewayPoint (Woodlands MRT station is the nearest to get there…)
Ta-daa…..
Teh tarik (“pulled tea” or 拉茶 in Mandarin) is a type of tea which can be bought in restaurants and outdoor stalls in Singapore. However, I found this Teh tarik in the food court with an idea like the ‘McDonald’s’ menu. They have packaged it as such like a set meal with mee robus, mee goreng and many other malay food. Coming back from my Euro trip somehow makes me feel this is ‘fresh’;) By the way, this teh tastes very good!
