“Durians”? Are those the fruits that people say smell really bad? Or is there another thing it means? Such a nice cityscape there too, so envious.

Yes, durian fruit (the sharp prickly thorns on the shell) does emits the strong & distinctive smell. Some like it and some just can’t stand the smell of it.
