Recently, I attended a pre-school function and I was captured by the children’s works of art, especially that Chinese painting and the Chinese calligraphy.
These are strawberries and watermelons painted by 4-5 year olds.
Enjoy…. Yum!
On Palawan Beach, just behind the tram stop (pictured yesterday) stands this Gurkha soldier always on the lookout for Singapore’s shores. The pill box decorated now is part of a relic from WWII when Singapore was fortified to fend off the Japanese invasion from the South. Gurkhas are renowned to be fierce and fearless soldiers of historical legends.
I have not been an islander (as they call those who go to the Sentosa island of fun and sun in the south of Singapore) since ages ago… things have changed so much on that tiny island and continue to be so with the upcoming Integrated Resort (housing a casino, yes, one of the two first casinos in SG!)
here is a picture of the lastest beach tram which spans a transport mode along the long stretch of beach in the southern part of the island.
I passed by this sight the other day… stopped by the side of the road to take this photo. This sparse land is reserved in the middle of the high end landed property district of Singapore. Beautiful piece of land that is not released by the government and many of those living around there jog/run the perimeter of the land in the evenings to get sights like this.
Lucky people…
