Trishaw ride anyone?

Trishaw mode of transport… almost extinct in Singapore, but still vibrant in Malacca where this shot was taken.  Used to be a cheap mode of transport, but now it is more expensive than to catch a cab.

The good old days…

Kaya toast and coffee anyone?

M3

Just happened to come across this photo I took 2 years ago in Malacca… nostalgic, even in this day and age.

This was how kaya (a special local jam made of eggs, coconut, sugar and pandan essence) toast is traditionally made, over a charcoal fire.  About 3 decades ago, we used to get breakfast like this in the eateries we term “coffeeshops”.  Placing an order would easily take 30 minutes to delivery, and meanwhile, you sip your coffee or tea and watch the world go by.

These days, one would just get it all within 5 minutes!  And believe me, the taste is nowhere the same.  We rush too much these days…

This is the welcome fountain piece at the Sentosa Cove residential development, in Sentosa Island.  Very soon, when the units obtain T.O.P, the place will have a higher security and photos like these will be hard to come by as I do not know anyone who can blow $5million dollars on a piece of property at the cove!

You get what you pay for, I guess…

Nice piece of work, possibly the nicest fountain in Singapore, IMHO.
