A hungry polar bear behind bars….
Last week, I went took time off to join Dr Jane Goodall in the Wildlife Stampede… or rather, I brought my kids there to participate.
Dr Goodall is the living icon for wildlife conservation and in SG, it was no small thing with 700 people in the Stampede… a parade of costumes from the Jacob Ballas Gardens, Singapore Botanical Gardens to the Palm Valley arena some 1.9km away.

”Thanks again to my flickr friend Rajesh (rags1969) for driving me to such a great place! We were on the road from 6:00am, and made some great shots. You may have a look at the whole HDR set or Singapore Set.”

”My good friend _uncommon (Marcus) has asked about the workflow for this HDR. Nothing special here, except that on top of the usual five exposures (-2EV,-1EV,0EV,+1EV,+2EV), I switched the camera to manual mode to get 2 extra exposures because the trees on the left were still too dark for the +2EV exposure.
Then for the tone mapping in Photomatix, I used very conservative settings (Strength: 90, Color Saturation: 60, Light Smoothing: 1, Luminosity: 2, Micro contrast: 2, Micro-smoothing: 4)
After HDR generation, noise cleaning with ‘Noise Ninja’. Then applied a ‘Curve’ with a Layer Mask to brighten only the trees on the left. That’s it basically!”

Today, our second Guest Photographer is ‘Daniel KHC’. This photo entitled ‘Jetty Blues’ by Daniel was featured on Flickr’s Explore Front Page (#1) on July 4th’. It was taken at Labrador Park, Singapore. This is not an HDR. I blended two shots to create this picture. Please check my Digital Blending Set. Please check my interestingness page
