BMW CleanEnergy

BMW is ready to introduce its hydrogen-fuelled 7 Series limousine in Singapore but it won’t be for sale yet. Representing 20 years of research and development, the Munich-based carmaker has developed the first emission-free liquid hydrogen-powered luxury saloon suitable for everyday use, according to BMW.

The cars due to arrive in Singapore as part of a world tour.

The Hydrogen 7 has two fuel tanks, one for petrol and the other for liquid hydrogen, BMW said. When operated only on hydrogen fuel, the car emits water vapour.

HDB

You see them everywhere in Singapore. Majority of the residents stay in the heartland like these Gov flat provided by the Housing and Development Board (HDB).

Most people living in HDB aims to “upgrade” in future to a higher status living as in private condominium or newer apartments. Others like myself do the opposite as with HDB you can get really bigger size place (mine was from 1000 -sq ft to 1500-sq ft) and more convenient and lots of amenities like near shopping malls & public transports. Also HDB flat cost a lot less.

This is the place that i moved in just recently. Very windy most of the time.

“loh-hei” for Prosperity

Most of company & people here organised “loh hei” event during the CNY celebration. Our work dept also follow the tradition today which is very common here in Singapore. To some different culture, tossing food (especailly fish pieces..Yee (fish) sang (raw) an appetiser, a mixed raw fish salad with a colourful arrangement) at the table might seen to be a bit strange but during CNY it have special importance. The word literally means “mix upwards” which sounds like “prosperity and progress” in Cantonese language. Others interpret as “Enjoy more and more prosperity!”

Construction boom

Some buildings prefered to upgrade like this new service apartment “The Ascott” building in front of Raffles Place MRT station.
