“loh-hei” for Prosperity

Most of company & people here organised “loh hei” event during the CNY celebration. Our work dept also follow the tradition today which is very common here in Singapore. To some different culture, tossing food (especailly fish pieces..Yee (fish) sang (raw) an appetiser, a mixed raw fish salad with a colourful arrangement) at the table might seen to be a bit strange but during CNY it have special importance. The word literally means “mix upwards” which sounds like “prosperity and progress” in Cantonese language. Others interpret as “Enjoy more and more prosperity!”

I love the angle of this photo. It makes you feel you just reach in for some of this great dish!
