Was there tonight for the Marina Barrage officially open to the public. It’s Singapore 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city.
The Marina Barrage was twenty years in the making when Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew’s vision envisaged damming the mouth of the Marina Channel to create a freshwater reservoir.
Benefit includes:

- Flood control
- Lifestyle Attraction
it’s amazing how a barrage like this can turn all the seawater in Marina Bay into freshwater
Yes i also think it’s amazing. It will be definitely very beneficial for Singapore (now and in the future) to not rely importing water from it’s neighbouring countries.
