The above shot is easily one of my favourit one for the night. I love the bright orange fruit standing out in the darkness. And i also love the many little lights on top that sort of add more life (in its tiny small way) in the darkness.

One of the main draw for this year is the giantic chess set, chinese chess. Above is one shot of the whole set.
As you can see from the above shot, i’m not able to fit the whole chess board in one frame. I did not bring my wide angle lens that day, a bit regret though.

Above is the wishing well at the River Hongbao, which is crowded with people. Those around would toss a coin and aim for the silver bells. If you hit the bell with a ting, then what you wish for would come true. If you notice, there are a few bells hanging around, and each of them represent a different kind of wish. Such wishes include health, propersity, career, education..etc..
All amount collected from this well would be donated to a charity, which is a good cause.

This is the first display that would be presented once you entered the floating platform. The phoenix really captures the attention of me. However i feel that is too complicated of a design at the bottom, too clustered.
I really wonder if the phoenix does exists long long time ago, or is just a legendary animal.

Went to the yearly River HongBao today. The venue has been changed to the floating platform at Marina this year.
As usual, there is a huge crowd there, especially since is the first day of the CNY as well. I preferred this venue as it is more spacious and more open. The place is windy and you can feel the breeze while walking around the platform.
The photo above is the God of Fortune. May everyone of us here find our good fortunes!!

Happy Chinese New Year!!!
Finally the year of Ox has arrive!!
Hereby wishing all a year full of good wishes and health ahead!!

Above is one part of the boardway that stretches out to the sea. I love walking till the very end!! The sea breeze is really amazing, and i love the feeling of the sea breeze “kissing” my face.
It does makes one feel so at ease and down to earth for that moment.

The poupular Chek Jawa has been given a facelit, and the above is what it look like now. There are now boardways around the whole area. We are not able to go down and get real close to the shore anymore. I do understand they wish to protect the natural habitat and environment, but is quite sad that no close up shots are possible anymore.

This is the newly built Watch Tower in Puala Ubin. Although it does not look so high from the above shot, it does take some time to climb up, especially carrying those equipments.
The view on top there is nice as it look out to the sea. If you are lucky, you might be able to see eagles around the area. This watch tower is primarily build for eagles watching.

The most beautiful sight in the island is going up to the top of the quarry. I love the water from the view on top!! Feel like on the top of the world!!
Anyway.. the route to this quarry is not obvious since there is no sign indicating the direction to it. I know about this from my other friend that time and i went back a few times actually. You need to walk up a trail for a few mins and then you will be presented with such a beautiful sight.

Above is the sight you would see when you just walked out of the jetty itself. There are coffee shops, provisional shops and many bicycles rental shops along the jetty. There is also a small police post and a small temple nearby as well.
The bicycle rental there is cheap, you could rent a decent bike for SGD$5 for the whole day!!! How nice is that, right??

Above is the sight presented to your eyes when you are approaching the island. As you can see from the photo, the island is still very much of an village. Even the modern chalet there is still adopting the village theme.
As you approaching the island, the sense of adventure and anticipation is slowly building up.
It is always at the moment of reaching that i can’t wait to jump onto the Puala Ubin soil.

This is the view from the boat on the journey to the island. The whole journey took about 10 over minutes. And do be careful when you sitting next to the open window of the boat. Sometimes the boat ride would be bumpy with the strong waves, so one could have the experience of “showering with sea water”!!
I enjoy the sea and sun throughout the journey.
