The poupular Chek Jawa has been given a facelit, and the above is what it look like now. There are now boardways around the whole area. We are not able to go down and get real close to the shore anymore. I do understand they wish to protect the natural habitat and environment, but is quite sad that no close up shots are possible anymore.

This is the newly built Watch Tower in Puala Ubin. Although it does not look so high from the above shot, it does take some time to climb up, especially carrying those equipments.
The view on top there is nice as it look out to the sea. If you are lucky, you might be able to see eagles around the area. This watch tower is primarily build for eagles watching.

The most beautiful sight in the island is going up to the top of the quarry. I love the water from the view on top!! Feel like on the top of the world!!
Anyway.. the route to this quarry is not obvious since there is no sign indicating the direction to it. I know about this from my other friend that time and i went back a few times actually. You need to walk up a trail for a few mins and then you will be presented with such a beautiful sight.

Above is the sight you would see when you just walked out of the jetty itself. There are coffee shops, provisional shops and many bicycles rental shops along the jetty. There is also a small police post and a small temple nearby as well.
The bicycle rental there is cheap, you could rent a decent bike for SGD$5 for the whole day!!! How nice is that, right??

Above is the sight presented to your eyes when you are approaching the island. As you can see from the photo, the island is still very much of an village. Even the modern chalet there is still adopting the village theme.
As you approaching the island, the sense of adventure and anticipation is slowly building up.
It is always at the moment of reaching that i can’t wait to jump onto the Puala Ubin soil.

This is the view from the boat on the journey to the island. The whole journey took about 10 over minutes. And do be careful when you sitting next to the open window of the boat. Sometimes the boat ride would be bumpy with the strong waves, so one could have the experience of “showering with sea water”!!
I enjoy the sea and sun throughout the journey.

I always enjoying going to Puala Ubin to cycle. It is a nice breakaway from the city life and it gives me a time for me to reflect upon things at times.
Above is the shot of the jetty that we would be taking the boat from. The jetty now is a new one, of which the facilities are better as compared the old one. As such, the price of the trip increases as well.
I enjoy the ride in such boat. Is a nice experience from the modern motor boat
