Twinkle Twinkle Little Star…..
But this time round, the star is in the sea!!
Proudly presenting the starfish!!
This is my first time seeing a starfish in its natural habitat!!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star…..
But this time round, the star is in the sea!!
Proudly presenting the starfish!!
This is my first time seeing a starfish in its natural habitat!!

Guess what’s the first creature we saw??
It’s a sea cucumber!!
Me not a fan of any seafood and sea related stuff, so i’m not sure how people would be able to link the sight of it to the taste of it.

This is where the Intertidal Walk begins. It is now low tide and we would be walking out towards the shore as we proceed along. The time spend walking around here is more than an hour, which i still think is not enough for my photo shoot.

This is the sea view from the island itself.
The sea looks calm and nice.
I like the peace on the island itself, although people still regard this as “rubbish” island haha

This is the area whereby the boats will send the ash of rubbish to. From here, trucks would be loaded with the ashes and then transported to the dumping area on the island itself.
Rest assured there are no foul smell on this island as the rubbish are already in the ashes form.

I had the chance to go for a Intertidal Walk at Puala Semakau 2 weekends ago.
The Semakau Landfill is Singapore’s only landfill for waste dispoal, and it is only accessible by boat, a close to 50 mins boat ride.
The marine life at the shore during low tides are plentiful, as you will see from my photos later on in the next few days.

Was trying to shot different angles of both the burning candles, somehow i did not manage to get the ideal shot that i had in mind.
hmmmmm….

And this is the view from the corridor.
Notice that the incense sticks are different on this special occasion as well.
It is not easy to make them stay in their position.

This is another shot from the top, there are 2 rows of 6 bowls of different food.
The food are carefully chosen so as to symbolize sweetness.
And as usual, a piece of red paper cut out is place in the bowl for good luck and looking good as well.

From here you can see the types of fruits as well as food that is being offered on the table.
Notice the red paper that is being coiled around all fruits?? Red is an auspicious color among the Chinese, especially during the Chinese New Year Period.
Do you notice the pig as well? It represents roast pig!! But in actually fact, it is just jelly that is in the shape of a roast pig.
And to the left of the “roast pig” are delicacies called Ang-Gu-Kuey. The fillings in there are peanuts and yellow bean paste. Of course there are others types of fillings, but these 2 are the most common ones. My favorite is the one with peanut filling.

This is a photo that was taken about 2 weeks back at my home.
It was the 9th day of the Lunar New Year, and some people would be offering food and praying to the “Heaven Palace” (Tian Gong in chinese) during this day. It was a way of praying for the well-beings of the whole family in the new year.
Look at the long candles, it would take more than a day to finish.

Although this exhibit did not won any prize, this has become one of my favourite.
It gives a very down to earth and homely feeling, and got that bit of Japan taste in it.
I guessed is the umbrellas that made it have that kind of unique feeling.

And now is the time to announce the 1st Prize!!
Isn’t it nice??
I just love sunflowers!!! Just by the sight of them would already make my day full of sunshine and worry-free.
