And this is the view from the corridor.
Notice that the incense sticks are different on this special occasion as well.
It is not easy to make them stay in their position.

This is another shot from the top, there are 2 rows of 6 bowls of different food.
The food are carefully chosen so as to symbolize sweetness.
And as usual, a piece of red paper cut out is place in the bowl for good luck and looking good as well.

From here you can see the types of fruits as well as food that is being offered on the table.
Notice the red paper that is being coiled around all fruits?? Red is an auspicious color among the Chinese, especially during the Chinese New Year Period.
Do you notice the pig as well? It represents roast pig!! But in actually fact, it is just jelly that is in the shape of a roast pig.
And to the left of the “roast pig” are delicacies called Ang-Gu-Kuey. The fillings in there are peanuts and yellow bean paste. Of course there are others types of fillings, but these 2 are the most common ones. My favorite is the one with peanut filling.

This is a photo that was taken about 2 weeks back at my home.
It was the 9th day of the Lunar New Year, and some people would be offering food and praying to the “Heaven Palace” (Tian Gong in chinese) during this day. It was a way of praying for the well-beings of the whole family in the new year.
Look at the long candles, it would take more than a day to finish.

Although this exhibit did not won any prize, this has become one of my favourite.
It gives a very down to earth and homely feeling, and got that bit of Japan taste in it.
I guessed is the umbrellas that made it have that kind of unique feeling.

It is always amazing how recycle materials could be made into something so nice and colorful for us to be captured.
