The above shot is also from Senkang estate as well. This shot includes the LRT system. LRT stands for Light Rapid Transit, and is a form of automated light rail transportation system in Singapore. Currently only a few estates have it. It is mean to make areas within the estate more accessible, and it is connected to the larger MRT network as well.

The buildings above are also from Senkang estate. New buildings are built in such a way that you rarely get to see the corridoor view. All you see from the outside are just windows, that’s all. It is a bit unlike older HDB flats whereby is constructed in a single long view with corridoors.

Buildings of Today

Above is one of the many new buildings found in the newer estate in Singapore. This is in Senkang, one estate in the north-eastern side of Singapore. I just feel that the new buildings are small and compact, and it looked so closed up. It kinda gets very quiet into the night, unlike in older estate whereby there are still some activites going on. Well, mostly are newly wedded couples in new estate, so that is one reason why newer estates are always quieter.

Playground Today

This is a common type of playground that you will see these days. Gone are those playgrounds that i mentioned about in the post yesterday.

All the playgrounds these days are more of the safety aspects, such as plastic and the ground are made from soft material, cushions type. When i saw the slide, it does not seem as fun as what i used to play when i was young. :P

The height of the playground setup was not as high as compared to last time as well. Well, i guessed that prevent more injuries from falling.

Playground of the past

Playground of the past

Above is one of the few playground that we can still these days.

It is in the shape of a dragon and children can just climb onto it and run from the head to the tail. I remembered when i was young, i love to run about, climbing up and now.
I also missed the swings and see-saws found in the playground when i was still a child. The sand in the playgound was also what i missed as well.

The playgrounds these days are just so different, as you would see from the photo tomorrow.

Double Rainbow at housing estate

Double Rainbow at housing estate

Singapore seems to be in the raining season since the last 2 weeks. And there are many sightings of rainbows all across the island. I was away for my reservist last week, as such, i did not able to have any view of them.

I got the above shot from a friend. The top rainbow is a bit faint over here, but we can clearly see it is a double rainbow. Thanks Manfred for the above photo. :)

Puala Semakau Intertidal Walk

Puala Semakau Intertidal Walk

As compared to the last 2 shots of the corals found over there, this is of a small one, i wonder how big would this grow into.

And this would be the last photo from the Puala Semaku Intertidal Walk series. As you guys have seen from the many photos, it is indeed an interesting place to be. Hope you all enjoy the photos series. :)
