CK Tang is a Teochew. I’m also a Teochew :) and CK Tang emigrated to the British colony of Singapore in 1923. He began as a door-to-door salesman peddling hand-made Swatow lace, embroidery and linen products. With a hired rickshaw, Tang carried his goods in a pair of tin trunks which remained in his possession as a reminder of his humble beginnings.

Let’s start with this photo :) The much heard about – Marina Bay Sands in chinese, 滨海湾金沙综合娱乐城 is Singapore’s first casino! I’m not really a casino-goer, but it is quite a step for Singapore as having a casino. Is there casino/casinos in your city? What are your views of casino gambling?

I just noticed the dressing of the people is becoming more casual (due to a very humid and hot climate in Singapore). Within ION Orchard mall, there is an intelligent media wall borne from cutting edge technology. Multi-sensory canvas, the fluid, electric and magnetic intelligent Media Facade offers retailers the opportunity to present their concepts in the most unique and captivating style to commuters, pedestrians, shoppers and onlookers.

Colloquially known as Lau Pa Sat (老巴刹) is not just a historic building in Singapore, it is also a very popular food centre that has a unique, octagonal, cast-iron structure is delicate in its execution. Designed by James MacRitchie.

The use of cast iron for the structure, as well as for decorative reasons – made it kind of beautiful as it looked very Victorian. We’ll try to show you an interior someday ;)

Not just the blue skies. I love the lights reflections on the blue waters of this photo! By clicking here, you can see a Google earth model of this special architecture built by Tea Vui Huang. The three hotel towers will house 2,500 rooms. The card-deck inspired resort is designed by Moshe Safdie. I think this design is amazing, what do you think? ;)

PeraMakan

PeraMakan Photo by Ming I’ve not been to PeraMakan, I guess this is a new eating place. Found this information, and I’ll probably try it with Zsolt when we visit in July! I’m curious about the taste of the food and service since the ratings are quite good, 7.3 and 7.2 respectively!
