This morning 1,500 Urbanathletes turned up for this one-of-a-kind race as they traversed eight urban obstacles over a 12.5km route along Singapore River and Marina Promenade. It was very challenging for most athletes.

This memorial was erected to remember the shared experiences and struggles of the major races of Singapore during World War II. Every year on 15 February, a memorial service is held here to remember the victims of the war.

Located in the east of the Padang, the Civilian War Memorial is dedicated to all those who perished during the Japanese Occupation of Singapore between 15 February 1942 to 12 September 1945. Four identical pillars rising more than 60 metres high symbolise the shared experiences of the four major races of Singapore – Chinese, Malay, Indian and other races. The remains of the unidentified war victims are buried beneath the monument.

St Andrew’s Cathedral, is an Anglican Cathedral located in CBD and next to the City Hall MRT station. Named after the patron saint of Scotland, it is the oldest Anglican house of worship in Singapore.

Tonight was the official opening of Chinese New Year. There was firework display and very crowded as usual with traditional CNY performance and street stores selling various goodies.

Chinese New Year is just around the corner (13-15Feb)…now shops and malls are decorated with traditional red deco.

Quite a regular task throughout the year to make it the trees neat & tidy.

Driver was too busy and overran the cone which meant for no parking area. Argument follows….

After quite a busy morning for this traffic police directing traffics around the primary school on a hot day….a nice cold refreshing drink was a welcome.
