“Mystery Object”:The Art Science Museum


The white object is the so-called ‘mystery object’ which I’ve chosen for yesterday’s Theme Day. It is a Lotus-Shaped Singapore Museum which collects rain and light. It is interpreted as a lotus flower or outreached hand. And I’d like to share about this museum’s roof which is designed to deftly collect water and light for the museum’s use. Talking about eco-friendliness :) Just love designs like this!!

Clarke Quay Night along Singapore River

The Clarke Quay in Singapore is one of the most visited and also one of the most popular historical sight for it has such a beautiful colour whether in the day or at night. This quay was rather named after a British army officer called ‘Sir Andrew Clarke’. Infact, Singapore is very well visited by the Brits and it is a very affordable destination for them. So today, we will share some little facts about Clarke Quay: It was named after the Singapore’s second Governor in 1896. From 1873 to 1875, Singapore was position as a main port for the Malay states of Perak, Selangor and Sungei Ujong. Now, there is a pedestrian mall on Clarke Quay. In history, small tongkangs boats carry firewood from Indonesia and berthed at this jetty. Firewood trade was primarily a Teochew enterprise, thus its local name ‘cha chun tau’ 柴船头
